Why I Started June Second Marketing & Consulting
Updated: Jun 15

After spending more than 25 years in the newspaper industry, I had the privilege of working with hundreds of small business owners across Mississippi and beyond.
I saw incredible businesses built by hardworking people who were experts at what they did. They were outstanding mechanics, pharmacists, retailers, contractors, restaurateurs, and service providers. They knew how to serve their customers. They knew how to run their businesses.
What they didn't have was time.
Most small business owners wear every hat imaginable. They're managing employees, serving customers, handling inventory, paying bills, solving problems, and often working long after everyone else has gone home.
Marketing frequently becomes the thing that's pushed to tomorrow.
Then tomorrow becomes next week.
Then next month.
Before long, business owners find themselves wondering why sales have slowed, why new customers aren't walking through the door, or why competitors seem to be growing faster.
The truth is that marketing often isn't neglected because business owners don't understand its importance. It's neglected because there are only so many hours in the day.
That's why I started June Second Marketing & Consulting.
My goal is to help small business owners focus on what they do best while having a strategic marketing partner who can help tell their story, increase visibility, and create opportunities for growth.
Because running a business is already a full-time job.
You shouldn't have to be a full-time marketer too.
